Transport to and from Kuala Lumpur Airport

In Kuala Lumpur airport there’s the inter-terminal transportation and also, external connections to the airport’s surroundings.

 

Aerotrain: Inter-terminal transportation

It links with the Main Terminal and the Satellite building of the KUL airport in 2-3 minutes. It consists of an automated people mover which can transport 3,000 passengers for every travel in t. Aerotrain can reach a speed of 55 km/h and operates every 3-5 minutes.

There’s also a connection between the Main Terminal Building of the airport and klia2, provided by KLIA Transit and KLIA Ekspres. It takes 3 minutes to connect both terminals.

 

Bus

Public and private buses connect KLIA and klia2 to different destinations in Kuala Lumpur, hotels and surroundings.

Rail

Kuala Lumpur Airport is connected with KL Sentral transportation hub with the city centre by Express Rail Link (ERL). From the airport there are two ERL stations: Main Terminal - KLIA station and Gateway@klia2 - klia2 station.

 

The airport is served by two rail services on the Express Rail Link: KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit.

- KLIA Ekspres: connects KLIA (and klia2) with KL Sentral (KL City Air Terminal) in half an hour approximately.

- KLIA Transit: consists of a commuter rail service between KL Sentral and KLIA. It takes 35 minutes to/from KLIA and 40 minutes to/from klia2. It also stops in Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya/Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi.

 

Taxis and Limos

There are 4 different types of taxis from Kuala Lumpur airport: Budget taxi, Premier Limo, Super Luxury and Family Service. All are provided by Airport Limo.

 

Metered taxis are available at level 1 and 3 of the Main Terminal and passengers have to purchase RM2 cupon before pick up a taxi.  Taxis and Limos operate through a coupon system. You can purchase it in:

- International Arrival Hall - just after Customs.

- Domestic Arrival Hall - public area after Domestic Baggage Clearance.

- Domestic Baggage Reclaim - Arrival Level.

 

Passengers can choose which service suits better for its preferences.

 

Fares:

- RM3 for the first km or first 3 minutes.

- RM0.10 for each consequent 115 metres.

- 50% surcharge from 12a.m - 6 a.m

 

There are different fares for Executives: Executive Taxi Fares

- RM6 for first km or first 2 minutes

- RM0.20 for each consequent 150 metres

- 50% surcharge from 12a.m - 6a.m 

 

Gateway@klia2

Is a complex that is linked to klia2 terminal. The transport hub at Gateway@klia2 connects klia2 to KLIA Ekspres, with allotted pick-up and drop-off areas for taxis, coaches, rental cars and private transportation.

 

Gateway@klia2 has an 8-storey car park with 6,000 covered parking lots at Blocks A,B and 5,500 parking lots at block D. To arrive in the car park D the airport provides shuttle buses.
